They say the best businesses are born out of a simple solution to a problem, and we think Nabbd is just that.
The concept stemmed from founder Polly Thompson’s own buying experience while organising her wedding. She felt well catered for as the bride, but there was little choice for her bridesmaids, so she ended up having to compromise with some dresses that “would do” and a colour she hadn’t intended to go for due to the limited range.
Offering
the perfect blend of digital and storefront
Polly clearly has an eye for detail, offering an immaculate shop and a lively, engaging e-commerce store for her customers and prospective buyers.
The chic boutique-style shop now stocks around 250 dress
samples, and Polly and her small team offer the full VIP experience for
brides and their bridesmaids. They offer glasses of bubbly and a floor dedicated to trying on
samples and selecting their perfect style and colour.

No luck with traditional lenders
After trading initially as an online shop only, it became apparent that Nabbd needed its own shop to attract and cater for more bridesmaids. However, with little trading history, finding the small business finance required to move to the high street wasn't going to be easy.
Polly hit a brick wall trying to access the more traditional funding routes, but after much frustration, the ideal solution arrived after a friend recommended Fleximize.
