Fleximize, the Ipswich-based small business lender, was top sponsor of the Global Cancer Hope Walk 2026 on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September. The walk was held in loving memory of Emma Adams.
A Relationship Manager at Fleximize, Emma was much loved by colleagues and customers alike. She passed away in April following a breast cancer diagnosis.
The walk was organised by Hope to Connect, the cancer support organisation Emma co-founded with Mandeep Birdy in March 2025. Walkers took part everywhere from Ohio and California to Sierra Leone, Brighton and Felixstowe.
On the Friday, over one hundred Fleximize employees team marked the occasion, setting off from Flex HQ along the Ipswich waterfront. The day gave colleagues the chance to walk together, remember Emma and support one another, including anyone living with cancer, caring for someone with the illness or grieving a loved one.
Mandeep Birdy, who co-founded Hope to Connect with Emma, said: "A special thank you to our top sponsor Fleximize for continuing to back us so enthusiastically."
Emma's legacy lives on through Hope to Connect, which is developing an app to connect people affected by cancer for friendship and support, so that no one facing cancer feels alone. In April, Emma and Mandeep helped break a Guinness World Record at Trinity Park, Ipswich, when 891 people signed a cancer awareness ribbon in eight hours, raising more than £2,500 for five cancer charities.
