Fleximize Recognised as One of Britain's Most Outstanding SMEs in Elite Business Awards

12th February 2025

Fintech lender Fleximize has secured the second-highest rating in Britain's prestigious Elite Business 100 rankings, following a year that saw the company deploy £114.3 million in business loans. This achievement builds on Fleximize’s continued growth since recently securing major institutional backing from Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Citi.

The Elite Business 100, Britain's definitive ranking of SME excellence, recognises the most innovative and impactful businesses across the UK.

Fleximize's inclusion, announced as the company marks its 11th year of operations, reflects its transformative impact on SME lending and ambitious plans to double its lending capacity every 12-18 months over the next five years.

Peter Tuvey, CEO of Fleximize, said: "We are thrilled to have been recognised as one of Britain's top SMEs in the Elite Business 100 rankings. A decade ago, we spotted a crucial gap in SME funding when traditional banks were retreating from the market. This recognition validates our mission to combine innovative technology with personalised service, proving there's strong demand for a more flexible approach to business lending."

The company has demonstrated substantial growth in 2024, with unsecured lending up 33% year-on-year. Recent policy changes have expanded access to funding, with 12% more SMEs now qualifying for unsecured loans. The lender's approval values have increased by 24% per quarter, supported by an expanded credit team and streamlined digital processes.

Fleximize's impact extends beyond lending, with significant investment in the local community through partnerships with Ipswich Town Football Club Foundation and the University of Suffolk's entrepreneurship programmes. The company maintains a 97% staff retention rate and has grown from five employees to over 80 since its 2014 launch.

The complete Elite Business 100 rankings for 2025 will be unveiled at a ceremony on 12 March in London, where additional awards will be presented to celebrate outstanding achievements in the SME sector.
