Alan Barrie, owner of outdoor clothing store Montagne Sports, was able to purchase discounted stock thanks to a quick capital injection from Fleximize
18th April 2019
Alan Barrie is the owner of Newbury-based Montagne Sports, an independent retailer specialising in outdoor clothing and accessories. Based out of Newbury high street, the business can also be found on Shopify where their products are available to a global customer base.
Alan first came across Fleximize in 2016 when he needed funding for a new premises. He was unable to secure business finance from his bank, but Fleximize were able to offer him a small business loan perfectly tailored to his needs.
Since taking out his initial loan, Alan has returned to Fleximize twice for quick injections of capital to allow him to take advantage of last-minute opportunities. Most recently, in 2018, he found that one of his suppliers was looking to shift some stock and was offering a large quantity for a significantly discounted rate. Thanks to Fleximize's speedy approval process, Alan was able to borrow £20,000 to take to the supplier and secure the stock at an even more discounted rate.
